Forsby Kvarn Kafe

Really nice: great buns and coffee in a beautiful environment with friendly staff (owners?). Recommend a detour.

Forsby Kvarn Kafé is one of the coziest and most charming farms we've visited in this part of Sweden. Located just north of Uppsala, it's easily accessible via beautiful, serene landscapes and gentle (though narrow) gravel roads. The food is excellent, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The café offers a unique riverside setting and features a newly built multi-purpose performance theater space (see photos). While we haven't yet experienced a performance here, the ambiance promises a great time. We enjoyed an aubergine parmigiana on homemade sourdough bread (delicious!) with a touch of chili oil, and a goat cheese sandwich with prosciutto. The fika is excellent - their drip coffee has a well-balanced taste, and the rhubarb cake and passion fruit dessert were superb. Don't miss their gold medal-winning lemon bun, a unique specialty. Highly recommended for anyone interested in slow, relaxed sightseeing and quality local cuisine.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

it is a lovely, authentic, 'romantic' place with the most lovely, kind, friendly, welcoming people and delicious, heavenlike food! i have been there three times now. everytime was better than the last one. i tried the pizza aswell as the pastry. one was better than the other. stafan and his wife are offering pizza and pastry on the highest level of quality and taste in a wonderfully restaurated old water mill. you can sit outside next to the water and in the evening there even are some rustic fireplaces lighted up and spreading cosiness or find a place inside joined by candlelight. music is also present at this extraordinary place. i listend to a great smalscale cello concert. short: you really have to go there if you haven't been there! this place is outstandingly stunning. thank you forsby kvarn kafé to make me feel so welcome! i like the way you pay attention to every little detail to make the place show your passion for what you are doing.

Great service and staff!! Tended to our every need!! Even did a special for our toddler, very much appreciated! Sadly enough we didn't have time to explore the surroundings. Will definitely return!

Very happy I took the detour from E18! The cafe is charming and lies in beautiful surroundings, the food and pastries are high quality and the service was very welcoming. Will mark down as a gem and visit again when in the area.

Charming old mill with very good pizza, some of the meat is sourced from the local Franzén charcuterie. Pizza is only available on Fridays during the summer and they have very limited seating so make sure to book ahead of time.
